Dialogues
Equiconscism does not stand alone. It converses with complementary approaches—each with its own foundations, all converging on the same criteria: dignity, measure, responsibility, the common good.
Ravi Chaudhry — from capitalism to Peopleism
Ravi Chaudhry is founder chairman of CeNext Consulting. For three decades he has advised large corporations and governments on leading through turbulence. His book Capitalism to Peopleism: Inspiring a Leadership Transformation (Simon & Schuster India, 2024) received the FICCI Publishing Awards’ “Business Book of the Year – Business Management” distinction in 2025.
“Every human enterprise—corporate or government—rests on three indispensable pillars: capital, people, and nature.”
Ravi Chaudhry, Fortune, March 22, 2026
Peopleism offers a macro vision of capitalism’s evolution; Equiconscism works mainly at the micro and meso levels—persons, families, organizations, municipalities—while linking them explicitly to the macro level. The two approaches arose separately, recognize each other, and are complementary.
A complementarity
| Peopleism | Equiconscism | |
|---|---|---|
| Main level | Macro | Micro · meso |
| Pillars | Capital, people, nature | Economy, society, living world |
| Key capability | Wisdom in leadership | Consciousness: the hand that holds the pendulum |
| Shared conviction | The transition is not guaranteed: it has to be chosen. | |
A convergence of criteria
On May 15, 2026, Pope Leo XIV published the encyclical Magnifica Humanitas “on safeguarding the human person in the time of artificial intelligence.”
“Indeed, disorder does not arise only from scarcity; even unchecked growth can give rise to impoverishment. In an ecosystem, balance is disrupted when one species expands at the expense of others.”
Magnifica Humanitas, no. 113
The white paper documents the convergences—measure rather than unchecked growth, metrics beyond GDP (no. 159), subsidiarity and shared responsibility, the human being at the center of AI—and states the differences just as clearly: the encyclical is grounded in a Christian anthropology; Equiconscism is nondenominational. This is a convergence of criteria, not an endorsement.
Naming in order to act
Beyond VUCA and BANI, SALTER® is a conscious compass that names six fractures of our time—and proposes a concrete lever for each. SALTER names the imbalances; Equiconscism shows the way to balance.
| Fracture | Lever | |
|---|---|---|
| S | Saturation | Clarity |
| A | Artificiality | Embodied Presence |
| L | Lability | Inner Anchoring |
| T | Tribalism | Co-creation |
| E | Evasion | Responsibility |
| R | Rupture | Resonance |
